Chris is co-founder of Human Nature, Inc., a Landscape Architecture & Environmental Planning firm. He has 34 years of experience in planning and designing sustainable and place-specific parks, park systems, greenways, trails, campuses, gardens, farms, streetscapes, and other public open spaces. His professional philosophy and skills include the integration of sustainable design best practices, participatory design process, community building, protection and enhancement of natural and cultural resources and green infrastructure. Chris is responsible for the firm’s design culture; leads multi-disciplinary teams through the planning/design process; and, overall project design vision – from master planning through construction. He serves on professional and academic design juries throughout the Midwest and lectures across the region on topics such as parks, sustainability, ecology, and public art. Chris was inducted as a Fellow of the ASLA in 2017.
