Ryan Geismar

Ryan brings a unique cross-disciplinary perspective to landscape architecture, combining his architectural education with expertise in urban design and place-making. His approach excels at navigating the intersection of cultural, social, natural, and historical influences in the built environment.

As an adjunct professor at the University of Cincinnati's DAAP, Ryan co-founded the award-winning Vacant Lots: Occupied (VLO) platform, which unites private, public, and academic partners to transform underutilized urban parcels. The program has earned local and state recognition for its innovative approach to maximizing social and environmental impact through community-driven design.

Ryan's strong visual communication skills enable him to effectively convey complex conceptual and technical ideas to diverse audiences. His compelling visualizations have proven instrumental in building community support and advancing fundraising efforts, while his collaborative approach strengthens connections between stakeholders, civic groups, and multi-disciplinary design teams.
