Human Nature was the urban designer in a multi-disciplinary design team for many urban parks and streetscape enhancements in Fort Thomas. The team worked with several interest groups, Forward Steering Committee, and the city to create a master plan for the core commercial district. The processes involved an extensive inventory/analysis of existing conditions, identification of thematic opportunities unique to the city of Fort Thomas, and computer simulations of proposed concepts. The master plan for the Central Business District, completed in 2001, is a 2002 KYASLA Honor Award that features garden anchors at the north and south ends of the district, streetscape and facade enhancements, a town square, and improved traffic and parking strategies. Human Nature is also working with Fort Thomas to implement the Fort Thomas Midway Master plan to complement the success of the Central Business District.
